I'm Lorraine Stout, and I'm so happy you're here. I've been a fixture of the local community in Cork for over 27 years, and I've had a lot of fun doing it.

​

I love this city, and I love my job. It's my passion and my dream come true. I started Bladez because I wanted to provide a place where people could feel at home—where they could relax, enjoy themselves, and leave feeling happier than when they came in. And that's what we do every day here at Bladez: we make people feel good about themselves and their hair by giving them exactly what they need.

When we first opened our doors in 1996, it wasn't easy being a barber shop owner in Cork. It was hard for me to find the proper skills, and I'm not just talking about barbers—I'm talking about hair analysis, head shapes, consultations skill, etc..

​

The barbershop industry is very specific, and people who work there have to be able to work well together as a team while also being able to offer excellent customer service on their own.

Most people think that it's just a matter of giving haircuts and beard trims, but it's actually so much more than that!

​

All talented barbers also need to understand how to manage their business, cash flow, budgeting, managing bills, salary payments, admin, rotas can be overwhelming but important skills required to run your own business.

​

At Bladez Academy, we work hard to provide the education, mentorship and resources that students need in order to become successful barbers.

​

The program covers everything you need to know about the hair-styling business: how to work with clients, how to make and keep a clientele through social media, as well as administrative skills.

Our educators are dedicated to guiding you through your barbering career.
